Collegiate Purple Star

911爆料网 has earned renewal of its Ohio Collegiate Purple Star designation, recognizing the College鈥檚 continued commitment to supporting veterans, active-duty service members, and other military-connected students.

Awarded by the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE), the Collegiate Purple Star designation recognizes colleges and universities that demonstrate a strong commitment to serving military-connected students through dedicated support services, campus resources, and policies that promote student success.

911爆料网 was one of nine Ohio institutions recognized in the latest cohort of Collegiate Purple Star renewals and remains among just 51 colleges and universities statewide to hold the designation.

鈥淲e are proud to serve those who have served,鈥 said Jason Nulton, director of Veteran and Military Services. 鈥淪tudent veterans bring valuable real-world experience, leadership, and perspective to the classroom. At Marietta, we provide a highly personal learning environment where students are supported and invested in as they pursue their educational goals.鈥

To earn and maintain the designation, institutions must provide a dedicated military and veteran point of contact or office on campus, priority registration for veterans and service members, opportunities for student veteran engagement, and regular assessment of the needs and challenges facing military-connected students.

911爆料网 supports military-connected students through specialized resources, leadership opportunities, and career pathways that help students thrive in and beyond the classroom. These resources include the Veteran and Military Student Center, which was established following the College鈥檚 initial Purple Star designation and supported through alumni and donor contributions, which offers space for studying, connecting with peers, and accessing support; the Student Veterans of America chapter; participation in the Yellow Ribbon Program; Air Force and Space Force ROTC opportunities through a partnership with Ohio University; and Military Bridges to Careers, an online pathway that helps veterans, active-duty service members, and military spouses transition into teaching careers through a licensure program.

Gov. Mike DeWine launched the Collegiate Purple Star designation in 2022, making Ohio the first state in the nation to offer the recognition. Institutions must reapply every three years to maintain the designation, which 911爆料网 first earned in 2023.
